LOCATION OF THE SCHOOL
Lumumba Secondary School is situated at the outskirt of the Stone Town at Kinazini locality, just a few meters from the Indian Ocean. On the North it is bordering the main road linking the Zanzibar town and the Northern section of the island. This school has a total of 650 square meters of parametric ground. The façade of the school are the beautiful flowery trees and evergreen broadly stretched loan covering 250 square meters of the land on its Northern side. Behind the school is a conglomerate of recreational grounds. On the East and Western side are the staff quarters.
BUILDING AND FACILITIES
Having been architected in letter (F) design the school complex which is a storey building hosts two flamboyant gardens; one on the eastern wing and the other on the west.
In addition the school harbors several facilities designed to cater for students academically as well as recreationally. Apart from fourteen classrooms the school has the two built in Chemistry laboratories, one physics laboratory and one biology laboratory. It also has a huge auditorium, part of which lies on the balcony at the upper floor, a volleyball ground and the netball court respectively.
GOALS OF THE SCHOOL
The school eyes the development of the school as the academic center of excellence by improving the students’ academic performance.
The school also aims at improving the school environment by increasing the accessibility of teaching learning materials necessary to ensuring the attainment of magnificent performance.
